I cant run this game, i installed XNA and my .Net runtime is updated. Can you help me? Please. I have Window 10 64 Bits. I really want to play this game, it look so funny. Thanks in advance (Sorry for my bad english)

Hey, Sorry you are having some issues! Does the game start up and run? or does it crash when you try to start a match? Also, what video card does your computer have?

it dosent open, i click the exe and nothing happens. i have a Nvidia Gforce GT 520

That is strange, okay follow these steps.

Step 1. Try to launch the game and let it fail.

Step 2. Navigate to Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer

Step 3. Click on and expand Windows Logs, and then click Applications

Step 4. Near the top of the list you should find TWO(2) error reports related to Super Blood Hockey, post them here.

That should tell us exactly what is going wrong :)

i hope this is the information, sorry if i missed something. Also sorry for the spanish Log. I really appreciate your support

(Edited 1 time)

Wow that is a strange one. It is possible something has gone wrong in your installation of XNA or .Net or even DirectX. First try running the game as administrator to see if that changes anything. According to https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/k7137bfe.aspx the error could be related to your .Net framework, so lets install the very latest version and try the game again: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344. Just curious, but did you extract the game files to your desktop, or are you running it from within a zip file? If so try extracting the files to your desktop first. I hope some of this works!

EDIT: Oh and if you have upgraded to Windows 10 Recently, it can mess up the XNA install, so that might be worth giving a reinstall too: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=20914

I got it working!! Somehow, my problem is related to a missing dll. Thanks you very much for your support. Now i gonna play this game :)

Excellent! I would love to hear what missing dll it was, in case some one else comes to me with the same problem :) Have fun!

The dll missing can be found in the "fix error (0xc000007b)". In case someone have the same problem. 1 of 105 dll can be the solution... or you can put all dlls next to the exe xD.

I have another trouble, i want to play with my brother and for some reason when i run the game with xbox controler emulator it crashed (I only have 2 generics joysticks). This game is generic Joystick compatible?. Anyways thanks for your help and support.

Which emulator are you using? so long as you have one thumbstick and a few buttons you should be good.

i would like to try out the full game of this when its done :D

Come for the hockey, stay for the fights.

for some reason when I click on the application it just won't open! please help!

First make sure you have XNA installed: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.a... - if you aren't sure, just run the installer and reboot anyway.

If that doesn't work, try running the application as administrator. Less likely is that you are missing the .Net runtime: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.a... Try that if the XNA installer doesn't work.

If it still doesn't run, post again and we can explore other options :)

I am trying to play yuor game but it crashes as soon as I try to play (after the team selections). I am on windows 10 x64.

Go to your windows 10 search bar and type in "Administrative tools", then find "Event Viewer" open it and go to "Windows Logs" and then expand the "Applications" selection. In there somewhere near the top, you should find 2 error reports related to the crash (it will say superbloodhockey.exe). If you could paste the entire error message here that would be very helpful!

I suspect it might be a missing .dll file related to Windows Media Player because once the game starts it queues the music, and this is a known error I have encountered in the past related to XNA Games. :) You could quickly try reinstalling Windows Media Player to see if it fixes it. If not the error report will tell us what is going wrong.

That is rather strange, does this error occur everytime you try to play a game? What if you change up some of the options, teams, etc? Try running the game in window'ed mode and see if that changes anything.

I got it working. I wasn't moving the controller type under the team. Everything is working now. Thanks

Ah! that makes sense! That is my fault though, you shouldn't be able to start a game with no controllers xD oops. I will have to fix that :D

Hey, I had the same problem just now. I realised it happens when you do not select a side when on the controller screen and you leave it blank. Make sure when it lists all the controllers to select left or right with mouse or keyboard. Then it should work. It kept crashing when i tried to start a game and no controller was selected.

Thumbs up on the game, it was real fun even though i lost to sweden 8-6 :(. Are you planning to build out the whole thing, career and all?

Yup you are correct! That is my mistake, it shouldn't be possible to not select any controllers xD but I guess that is the point of a Beta anyway hehe. I am glad you had fun with the game! I am definitely going to develop it much further including a career mode. thanks again!

Thanks so much folks! I wasn't selecting a controller either... I'm a fool.

Nah my fault. It shouldn't be possible xD

Hi folks - the menus load fine, but when I go to play there's a flash of the rink then it quits to desktop. Any ideas of a fix? I tried (re)installing XNA, just in case and it didn't make a difference. All the best with the game, btw, it looks great :)

I am going to copy paste my response to another comment because it seems you are having the same issue:

It may be a lack of a dll file for Windows Media Player. Try reinstalling that to see if it fixes it. If not the error message should tell us what is going wrong.

Made a video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Py3FtUhSEIU

Thanks for playing and glad to see you guys had some fun! If you have any suggestions or ideas, I would love to hear them :D

There isn't much to add to the game that I can see. The game play is fun, the controls are easy to learn, the fighting happens every so often making it a cool little surprise, the goalie is difficult enough to block most of the shots but he isn't impossible to get past, and with are play through we couldn't really find any bugs. Everything in the beta can basically be considered finished you have done an amazing job with this game and we can not wait for the full version to come out.

Gave your game a go....
